Graphic Novel Book Club: Anti-Gone by Connor Willumsen

Each month we host a Graphic Novel Book Club meeting, open to all, during which we hang out and informally discuss a featured graphic novel. Our pick for October is Anti-Gone by Connor Willumsen. We will meet at La Petite Librairie Drawn & Quarterly (176 Rue Bernard Ouest) on October 17 at 7 pm. The discussion will be hosted by Drawn & Quarterly Marketing Director Julia Pohl-Miranda. Join us for refreshments and collective insights!

Connor Willumsen’s debut graphic novel Anti-Gone is fascinating - in it we get to know Spyda and Lynxa, two people trying to stay afloat in a gorgeously drawn and sometimes horrifying post-apocalyptic world that feels just like our own. They bicker and make jokes and adopt a stray alligator and go to the movies and do drugs and generally try to escape their own anxieties. Drawn on vellum in Willumsen’s idiosyncratic style, each page is peppered with surprising details and open to interpretation.

***We are offering a 20% discount on Anti-Gone from now until the meeting date!***
