POP Crawl 2019: The Bum Drum Conundrum
September 28, 2019
This Saturday morning, for the occasion of Pop Montreal, we hosted a reading and an activity for young children on the theme of consent.
Pop Montreal organized a "Kids Pop Crawl", an morning event where kids were invited to follow a map of Mile End to different activities around the neighborhood organized by local artists.
La Petite Drawn and Quarterly bookstore was the last stop on the map. For our exciting activity, we decided to host Melanie Proulx and Ashley Lanni, authors of "The Bum Drum Conundrum", to read from their book and do an activity on consent.
"The Bum Drum Conundrum" is a story about consent, which highlights the importance of asking for permission. After the reading, the children were asked to draw what consent meant to them.
Kids also had a chance to collect a prize for completing the map of Mile End.
Thank you Melanie, Ashley and Pop Montreal for a lovely morning!
